About Larkspan Electric
Electrical repair and panel upgrades in Norfolk, Virginia Beach and Chesapeake, plus EV chargers and generators, with a free written estimate before any planned work starts.
How Larkspan Electric works
The same routine runs on every job across South Hampton Roads: you have one contact from the first call to the clean-up, the problem is found before anyone talks about price, and the quote lists each part of the job on its own line so you can hold it up against anyone else's.
- Free written estimate
- Permit pulled and inspection booked for you
- Repair or upgrade, explained plainly
- Demo site by Levelwork
Our rules on every job
Always
- Find the problem before anyone talks about price
- Write every part of the quote on its own line: parts, labor, wall openings and the permit
- Pull the permit and book the inspections the work needs
- Tell you when a repair will hold and a new panel can wait
Never
- Ask for a signature on the first visit
- Start work before the price is agreed in writing
- Replace a part without showing you the old one
- Add a charge to the bill that was not on the quote
What the licenses and programs mean
Words you will see on electricians' vans and websites: what each one means for you, and what to ask before you sign.
Virginia contractor license with an electrical specialty
Virginia's Board for Contractors, part of the Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation, licenses electrical companies. Ask for the license number and look it up on the state's license lookup before you sign.
Journeyman and master electrician
Virginia also licenses the electricians themselves. A journeyman has years of supervised work behind them and passed an exam. A master electrician has more years and a second exam, and can oversee other electricians.
Liability and workers' compensation insurance
These cover damage to your property and injuries to the electricians while they work. Ask for a certificate sent to you by the insurer, not a photocopy.
From your call to the lights back on
Book a free estimate
Call, text or use the form. Tell us what the lights or the panel are doing and we give you a time. When the power is out or something smells hot, the call goes to the front of the list.
We find the cause
The electrician checks the whole circuit, not just the outlet you noticed, and tells you what failed in plain words. For planned work, the load calculation comes first.
Get a written price
You get the price of the work in writing before any of it starts. If an upgrade makes more sense than a repair, you see both prices on one page and decide for yourself.
We fix it and test it
We do the work, pull the permit with the city when it needs one, test every circuit we touched and show you it's working before we leave.
On every job
- Free written estimate
- Panels, EV chargers and generators
- Every quote priced line by line
- Emergency calls when the power is out
- Every circuit tested before we leave
What homeowners say
4.9 Sample rating
5 out of 5 stars
Half the house lost power on a Saturday. They walked me through checking the panel on the phone and had an electrician here that afternoon to replace a burned connection.
Dana P., NorfolkOctober 2026. Sample review 5 out of 5 stars
We were told we needed a whole new panel for our EV charger. These folks did a load calculation first and found room for the circuit in the panel we had.
Marcus T., Virginia BeachOctober 2026. Sample review 5 out of 5 stars
The written estimate listed the panel, the permit and the labor on their own lines, and the final bill matched it to the dollar. The inspection passed the first time.
Leah W., NorfolkSeptember 2026. Sample review 4 out of 5 stars
They put in a transfer switch for our portable generator and showed us how to use it. Clean work, and they took every scrap of wire with them.
