Where each part of the wiring fails
- Breaker panel
- The panel feeds every circuit in the house. Breakers that trip again and again or no room for a new circuit are the signs it needs a look.
- Wiring and outlets
- Old wiring wears out behind the walls, so warm outlets and flickering lights show up long before a circuit fails.
- EV chargers
- A Level 2 charger needs its own circuit and room in the panel. A load calculation shows what the house can carry before anything is bought.
- Generators
- A standby generator and its transfer switch keep the power on through an outage. A portable one needs a safe hookup, never a cord through a window.
